This week on December 20th Jews around the world will begin celebrating the eight-day Hanukkah festival.

Every night for eight days, we will light the Hanukkah candles, celebrating a victory over Greek armies 2200 years ago. We will eat latkes and spin dreidels.

Dreidel HP – This is no ordinary dreidel – it talks, it spins with the slight touch of a finger and it keeps electronic score.  Anyone can spin and anyone can win – you are the master of your own fate!

iGevalt: Dreidel Simulator – This app is a simple simulator of the dreidel itself. You can spin the dreidel with a swipe of your finger, or by using two fingers and “spinning” it. When it lands, a popup will appear that shows you what you got and what to do when you’re playing the game. There are real sounds of kids playing right along with you.

Super Dreidel – You select the number of players, the type of game, the number of rounds you want to play, and the amount of gelt each player begins with. After that you get to enter the names of everyone playing and then the fun begins. Take turns spinning the dreidel by swiping the screen as Super Dreidel tracks everyone’s gelt and makes sure there’s no cheating! When all but one player is out of gelt, Super Dreidel congratulates the winner and the fun starts over again. There is also Israeli edition of this game.
