The Jerusalem Report is an editorially independent biweekly features magazine, that offers original journalism from Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world.
Founded in 1990, The Report consistently aims to bridge the gaps between Israel and the Diaspora, and honestly assess Israel’s relations with its Arab neighbors. Every two weeks,
The Jerusalem Report looks behind and beyond the headlines, providing award-winning reporting, analysis and commentary from correspondents on every continent to a readership in more than 70 countries.
The Jerusalem Report was founded in 1990 by Hirsh Goodman, where he was editor in chief and publisher for nine years.
David Horovitz was editor in chief from 1998 and publisher from 2001–2004, with Sharon Ashley taking over in 2004 until 2006. Eetta Prince Gibson served in the position until 2012 and was replaced by British journalist Matthew Kalman, who held the position for only six months, resigning when, according to Kalman, he was asked to “implement a 10 per cent budget cut demanded by the management.” Kalman said “I would rather resign than try to produce the magazine on even more of a shoestring than we currently have.” Kalman was followed by Avi Hoffmann (June – December 2012), and in December 2012, Ilan Evyatar was appointed editor in chief.
In 2004 The Report won the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s Boris Smolar award for coverage of the Jewish World.
