“The Dry Bones Passover Haggadah” has just been published as an eBook PDF file, and as a glossy, soft cover book.
“Dry Bones” Yaakov Kirschen, was born in the USA in 1938. Kirschen received his degree in Art from Queens College in 1961.
In 1968 Kirschen began drawing Zionist cartoons for Jewish Student activist newspapers, which later became syndicated by the Jewish Student Press Service.
In 1971 moved to Israel, changed first name from Jerry to Yaakov, and in 1973 began drawing a daily editorial strip called Dry Bones, which became internationally syndicated and is known as Israel’s Political Comic Strip.
In 2013 the toon celebrated its 40th year in the Jerusalem Post. It has been reprinted or quoted by the NY Times, Time Mag, LA Times, CBS, AP, etc.
Kirschen is a member of both America’s National Cartoonists Society and the Israeli Cartoonists Society.
“The Dry Bones Passover Haggadah” is a complete traditional kosher Haggadah, but each and every page is framed by Dry Bones cartoon commentary. The Dry Bones Haggadah is not a “Cartoon Haggadah”, it’s a Haggadah whose pages are framed with Dry Bones cartoon commentary.
This layout is modeled on the way a page of Talmud is structured.
