TEDx was created in the spirit of TED‘s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

At TEDx events, unique talks given by live speakers combine with TEDTalks videos to spark deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience of deep discussion and connection. The TEDxTelAviv event, which will be held in Tel Aviv in Spring 2010, is part of a family of TEDx events scheduled in prominent cities worldwide including Dublin, Boston, Amsterdam, Sydney, Dubai, Lisbon, Shanghai, Warsaw and Taipei. The event is branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are developed locally.

The event theme reflects the inherent contradictions that characterize Israel: ancient-modern, religious-secular, rich-poor, east-west, devout-irreverent, tradition-innovation. TEDxTelAviv will demonstrate how this diversity has catalyzed cutting edge technology, world-class research, great works of art and ingenious social entrepreneurship.

TEDxTelAviv is a one-day celebration of imagination and inspiration in the TED Conferences tradition. The conference, which will open on Monday in Tel-Aviv, is the first attempt to bring the world renowned discussion to Israel, to showcase our best and brightest minds. This free application invites you to join TEDxTelAviv experience.

TEDxTelAviv is independently organized and operates under license from TED. This service is brought to the public with the kind support of Applicaster and Cotendo, that provide end-to-end video solutions for iPhone and content delivery services.
