MyHeritage.com is an online genealogy site based in Bnei Atarot, Israel. MyHeritage.com was founded by an Israeli Startup, team of people with a passion for genealogy and a strong grasp of Internet technology.

The homepage features a ‘Create a Family Tree’ tool where visitors can enter some information about themselves and their parents and begin the process of creating a family tree. An account is automatically created and the visitor is then given the option of keeping the free plan or upgrading to a premium plan with more features.

The account dashboard provides many options and links. Members can edit their family tree page information, add photos, add events to the calendar, add family news, and news articles. Members can also print out their family tree page, invite family members to join, and send gifts to their family from ftd.com.

The ’Family Tree’ section lets members add relatives to their family tree, as well as manage their family trees, view information by person and family, generate a variety of reports, such as a relationship report and a descendant report, print a family tree chart, and import GEDCOM files from other genealogy websites.

The ‘Photos & Videos’ section provides links to adding photos, videos, and documents to the family tree page, as well as tagging people in photos and viewing a tour of the site. Members can upload content, import content from their social networking profile, and upload photos from their email and mobile phone.

The ’Events’ section lets members view upcoming events, search for specific events, and post new events. The ‘Activities’ section displays a list of family related news articles, message boards, polls, recipes, links, and the guestbook.

The ‘Settings’ section displays an overview of the member’s account that includes plan type, storage space left, number of individuals that can be added in that plan type, and more. Members can view their messages, edit their personal profile, and view their genealogy sites by clicking the links at the top of the page.

The ’Celebrities & Fun’ section provides a variety of face recognition games and tools. The ‘Community’ section displays a list of the latest members, the latest sites, and the latest photos. There is also a ‘Member Map,’ which is an interactive map that displays members’ locations. The ‘Genealogy’ and ‘Download’ sections feature information about creating a family history, as well as a link to download the site’s ‘Family Tree Builder’ tool.

The site is available in other languages by clicking the ‘Languages’ drop down menu on the right side of the page.

There is also MyHeritage app for iPhone, iPad and Android powered devices. Share family moments, discover your family history and keep in touch with the people you love anytime, anywhere.
