Washington Jewish Music Festival – June 6 – 13

Now in its 11th year, the Washington Jewish Music Festival invites its audience to embark on a journey of sound and energy rarely explored in the DC area. The June 6 Opening Night presented Israel’s award-winning pop icon Danny Sanderson. The renowned Vagabond Opera will amaze the audience with its Bohemian cabaret performance, at closing night on June 13. All performances will take place at the Washington DCJCC’s Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater on 16th & Q Streets NW.

The Washington Jewish Music Festival continues to foster a broader appreciation of Jewish culture through its annual, multi-layered, eclectic music program that brings the community together to connect through music. For over a decade, masters of traditional music from around the globe have performed alongside cutting-edge contemporary musicians who blend traditions into a new fusion of Judeo-world music. Live performances, hands-on workshops and cross-cultural dialogues engage the diverse audience that returns year after year for this unique Festival of music.

According to Festival Director Lili Kalish Gersch, “From Ireland to Israel and Bohemia to Broadway, this year’s Washington Jewish Music Festival takes you on a whirlwind musical adventure featuring some of the most exciting performances and most talented musicians in the world.
