Never again miss the holiday that may be important to your Jewish partner, family and friends who adopted you as a Shikse/Sheygetz.
iShik is an easy-to-use reminder of the most important Jewish holidays and customs. This app offers you tips on how to address important Jewish occasions, and is built as an introduction to anybody joining or entering secular Jewish Israeli or secular Jewish American families, friendships or partnerships.
For sure it isn’t kosher app, it’s more like a kosher style cheese (veg) burger created with a great sense of humor.
“One of the main ideas behind this app” – says developer – ” is the attempt to re-signify the existing term Shikse, which is often used in a derogatory manner while defining the identity of all Shiksas and Sheygets, so that they may feel good in this role rather than being offended by the term. Language is a powerful tool that we use to give or change meanings and to define the things around us. If we believe that everything starts within a language, then we should use language to re-define terms no longer suited to the time in which we live. Here the term Shikse stands for women or men who are proudly in relationships of any kind with Jewish people, and provides them with an additional tool for improving their “shikseness” – an app for becoming “proper” Shikses and Sheygets as it suits modern times.”
Thanks G-d many Jewish families, even if they are very secular, run their yearly cycle and family gatherings according to this calendar. Adjust your own calendar through this app and never stay behind.
