The folks at the IDF’s Computer Services Directorate are working hard these days on developing a first of its kind mobile application – the IDF application, scheduled to be launched on Israel’s upcoming Independence Day, and expects millions of entries per day.
The new still unnamed application will target both apple and android devices, and will offer information for new recruits, for soldiers, regular, and reserve forces. Using the new development, the users would be able to perform many bureaucratic tasks from their smartphone, using a personal code.
Work on this new, innovative project begun four months ago, and dozens of IDF soldiers continue to roll up their sleeves to ensure that it is ship shape and ready to roll on time.
The application will be divided into different sections, each offering users different information. For instance new recruits could check out information about various IDF units, and candidates, will be able to check their recruitment process progression, see if they passed tests and contact support online.
The application will offer push notifications regarding hot military items. It will also contain memory sheets of IDF’s fallen soldiers, and will provide details about historic IDF landmarks proximate to the user.
